Mary Virden brings over 30 years of experience to her work in healthcare education, quality
improvement and consultation. A Nebraska native, Ms. Virden received a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from
the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master’s degree in Education (Health Education and Exercise Physiology)
from the University of Kansas.
Areas of management and consulting expertise include business enterprise development and operations, project management,
work process analysis and redesign, quality improvement and outcomes measurement, leadership coaching, and regulatory
and quality standards interpretation and analysis.
Ms. Virden has co-authored numerous web-based and computer-based professional training modules for non-profit,
for-profit and academic organizations. She is a past recipient of the Kansas Hospital Association’s Distinguished
Service Award and Cerner, Inc.’s Best Community Award. Ms. Virden holds memberships in the Health Information
Management Systems Society and Sigma Theta Tau, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the State Line Service
League.
