The Silver City Health Center provides affordable, high-quality primary care, in-depth clinical evaluation and a range of program-specific health services to English and Spanish-speaking residents of Wyandotte and Johnson counties. The Center provides access to medically indigent and underserved patients who have needs for proper primary health care and health education resources.

Silver City Health Center has been operated by the University of Kansas School of Medicine since 1997. On July 1, 2006, Silver City Health center began a collaborative arrangement with the Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health. In order to improve ongoing operations, KU HealthPartners, Inc. (KUHP) now manages Silver City Health Center. While primary care services continue to be provided by physician residents, expanded primary care and specialty programs tailored to specific health disparities in the Wyandotte County safety net are now being complemented by nursing and allied health specialists.

The Silver City Health Center is a member of the Wyandotte County Safety Net Clinic Coalition, the Medical Society of Johnson and Wyandotte Counties’ specialist referral network (WY/Jo Care), the Kansas Department of Health and Environment/Wyandotte County Diabetes Quality of Care Initiative and KC CareLink’s metropolitan-wide Healthcare Information Exchange.
