Board of Directors

The KU HealthPartners board of directors is comprised of a diverse group of School of Allied Health (SAH) and School of Nursing (SON) faculty. In addition to the executive committee leadership, elected and appointed directors complete the board of directors roster.

Serving as Ex Officio members, the board of directors executive committee membership includes the Senior Vice Chancellor (SVC) of the University of Kansas Medical Center; the Dean of each of the Schools, the Executive Director of KU HealthPartners; and the Administrative Officers of each of the Schools. At the present time, Karen Miller, RN, PhD, FAAN serves as Board of Directors President, and represents the interests of the SVC and Deans of the Schools of Nursing and Allied Health.

Additionally, four members of the board are appointed (two each from the KU School of Allied Health and KU School of Nursing) and four members of the board are elected (also two from each school). Appointments are made by the Dean of each respective school; elected positions are filled through a nomination and voting process. All appointed and elected directors serve two-year terms. A fifth elected at-large position is filled by a director from either the KU School of Allied Health or KU School of Nursing.
